I have done it before. If you buy something and cancel it, it's returned same as if it IS a regular rewards certificate. So unless they truly changed it this one time, you're the ne who is wrong. I just did it a couple months ago when they gave them out.

Last year when my order was canceled, I never received the certificate back. I lost that $10. So if you ever received it back, guess you are lucky.

I never received any mystery offer this year yet.

Maybe they treat these differently when theya re called mystery certificates. The one I got a couple months ago I am almost positive was also called that, though. It was one where you got a mystery amount. So who knows. it worked on whatever they gave me. It was a $5 I think and i sued a $10 of my own and when I canceled it gave me a $15 back.

I haven't gotten one this time either and I am starting to wonder if best buy accidentally stopped emailing me again because I haven't gotten a BB email since 3AM and they normally send them all day constantly. Recently they told me I had opted out, but no clue why they thought that. Then they started them back but now suddenly a while not receiving one.

They clearly don't know what they are doing, regardless... Yesterday they were supposed to be dropping the ps5 for only totaltech members and accidentally let anyone buy them.
