Should be a fine opportunity for exactly the scenario you're in, though I think one of the iPhone mini deals would have cost you about the same and would represent an even better value for money considering the OLED screen. However, if all-day battery is a factor the iPhone 11 will be more comparable to the prior iPhone 8 experience (the mini isn't broken, but the screen and smaller size simply conspire to stress the battery). The other advantage of the mini for an iPhone 8 user is that the overall size isn't increasing.
Good luck!

I changed my billing address for this deal so I could order it and send it away to my relative. You can change it back later once the shipment is out.
The above is the fine print excerpt for verizon. There doesn't appear to have a similar rule for AT&T.
Good luck!

but here's the fine print and link to that T-mobile promo:
Keep & Switch: Limited time offer; subject to change. Qualifying unlocked device, credit, service, port-in, 90+ days with device & eligible carrier & timely redemption required. Virtual Mastercard typically takes 15 days. No cash access & expires in 6 months. Card issued by Sunrise Banks N.A., Member FDIC.

Basically, you need to have the device on your AT&T or Verizon for 90 days already, pay off the phone yourself, save the bill, then port that number and 15 days later, you will receive a gift card worth that remaining payment, which will expire in 6 months (? this always gets me, like come on!).
