A representative at Costco told me their Crystal series get returned a lot. I'm not sure why though

Hoping hisense is better than this.

I'm pretty sure this TV was $549 on Black Friday. Any idea of if we can price match down to this lower value?

Hisesense IMO.

Also, my current (near $2000) Samsung 65 has developed weird yellow lines all over, sporadically, - googled model and turns out a ton of people have the same issue - all trying to get some kind of repair or swap years later. Not that all manufacturers don't have these issues from time to time, but like their appliances, Samsung TV's just aren't seemingly as reliable lately. 3-5 year Costco warranties help but better not to have to need them at all...

I took a chance on a lower priced Hisense last year from Costco for our bedroom and was very happily surprised on how good it's been! Was happy to grab the $499 deal when it popped up. Time will tell, but so far so good.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

This only having 2 hdmi 2.0 and no 2.1, not having USB 3.0, and 60hz native refresh rate is why this is so cheap, this is a no frills 4k tv and is worth about $500. It's basically a made for black Friday tv with all the features gutted

A friend of mine has one of these. They're not great. They get a lot of clouding in the corners and black uniformity is poor. 2 HDMIs, with neither of them being 2.1, is absolutely ridiculous. Also, "Crystal" is mostly just marketing. It's not a new technology. This is still just an LED lit LCD panel. Samsung did the same thing when LED TVs first hit the market. They made it sound like it was some new display panel tech, when all it is is a different form of lighting for an LCD TV. This is a TV you get when you only care about getting something big for cheap.

Could either be that it doesn't get bright enough or narrow viewing angles. It's a budget model so it would be a great tv for the office or bedroom where you can control ambient light

This was $100 more during the thanksgiving week. Costco adjusts price for online orders should price go down. Do they also do it for in store orders?
Has anyone tried?

60hz = pass. The ru8000 was at least worth the previous 500 dollar deal.

That's what I noticed as well. It really isn't even on sale at this price.
