Turns out, if your number on the apple pay account is 1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx, you may get some issues. I dropped the "1" prefix so I only have (xxx) xxx-xxxx and it went through after that.
Just wanted to share in case others had the same issue.
What do you mean by "on the Apple Pay account"? iCloud?

I bought a sweater online and was able to return it in a Columbia store but this was a few years ago. It sounds like from the chat that you can still do it though.
In any case, I had to call instead doing return with the automated system because I got a discount during cyber Monday (week) that expired already. I asked the agent and she said there was no other way for me to get the exchange with the same price that I had previously paid unless I called.
Although I literally was on hold for 2.5 hours the 2nd time (had dinner with family, washed dishes, cleaned up), I didn't mind at the end since the agent was so friendly. I think she was born to be a customer representative, she was very cheery on the phone, making jokes and very friendly.
Based on all the other reviews I read, I was surprised as I was expecting a robotic experience (just yes/no/ok type answers).
In any case, I was able to exchange for a larger size and the agent expedited the shipping to me so I received it in 3 days.
