I just saw a "This Old House" that ran through each of these three items and how they would be used. I already have a non-contact tester, but I'll pick this set up for the other two.

3 Products in this testing kit

1. GFCI receptacle tester features a large backlit LCD readout of voltage and clear indication of wiring conditions to easily detect common wiring faults

This is the one that you can plug into your power outlets. This tells you if the wiring is correct. Sometimes the neutral may not be connected or grounded. This device can detect and warn you so you can fix it before something bad could happen. It can also test ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is functional. New bathrooms and kitchens often have GFCI today, if there is a ground fault, the little button on the circuit will trip and and you would have to reset it to get power flowing through that circuit again.

2. Non-contact voltage tester's dual-range detects from 12-Volt to 1000-Volt AC or 70-Volt to 1000-Volt AC for a broad variety of low-voltage or standard voltage applications

NCVT or non contact voltage tester allows you to determine if there is live voltage on your power outlets or wires. The tip of the tool only needs to be close to the circuit and it can detect if its live. If it is it will beep and you better shutoff the circuit breaker before working on it otherwise you get electrocuted.

3. AC/DC voltage tester is designed as an easy-to-use tester for AC voltages from 24-Volt to 240-Volt AC at four useful levels and tests DC voltages from 32-Volt to 330-Volt at 4 levels

This is a tool used to determine the volage on live wires, hence the red and black. Simple example is to connect black to a - of a batter and red to + of a battery. It would be able to read the voltage. This idea could be translated to a real house circuit where you could determine the volage of your wires.

With all the DIY stuff happening at home, I've used these 3 times so far. I converted my light switch outlets to switch + 3 prong so i could use the extra outlet for charging my dyson in closet and powering a device in my bathroom.

The live wire detector ensures you dont get electrocuted, and the wiring verifier came in handy to make sure the outlet was connected right.

So you're right these sit in a drawer most of the time. But you never know when you will need it haha

I'm a remodeling pro who does electrical. The Klein ncvd is the only one I trust. Not a place to save money.

I was getting the same thing. Here's what I did as a workaround. I opened the link in incognito mode, then I selected 'ship to home'. Whenever I selected 'ship to store', it would reset my cart back to the regular $56 price. I then had to close my browser and start all over again. It seems like the only way to get this deal at $30 is to ship it to your home. Hope this works for you.

Still works.

Set the store to Marlboro, NJ store #6911.

Then you can ship to home for that price.

Did you mean NCVT? Or is NCVD a different tool?
