This is funny. $60 one way ticket but when you get there you find $3,000/ night accommodations. Hotels and locals are milking this gravy train like there is no tomorrow. Good luck finding cheap accommodations.

Personally, I prefer not to go to Hawaii during winter time unless you love "BIG" wave surfing. Biggest waves for surfing is in winter time (around Feb). More rain there around winter time. If you want to do "road to Hana" on maui island, you want to go there during drier weather (summer/fall). Some roads may be closed during heavy rain (more rain in winter time). I went to Big Island (Kona) around end of November/early December and I think weather is a bit chilly for swimming in late afternoon (around 70s) some days.

How is restaurant dining in Hawaii during covid? Do they have capacity limit and labor shortage issue? How about rental car? Restaurants around my living area either closing dining room, cut back dining hours or I have to wait for long time for seating, getting food/bills because of labor shortage.

But who can afford any of the accommodations? And even more an issue is the open hatred of locals against tourists. I've never seen it so bad. You all should check out some of the FB groups like Kauai Rants and Raves (and other islands)...but wow the open hostility.
