FYI this is a very basic rebranded thermostat by Honeywell and Alexa has not yet been updated to support vocal commands to control the unit

This is brand new with Honeywell's expertise of handling HVAC so high reliability.

You can talk to any Alexa device or even app to control it by voice. Ofcourse it has a a full GUI interface on app or echo show.

The Nest is a much better thermostat - it would not be worth replacing until it dies. If you are looking for an Alexa one as good as the Nest, then go with EcoBee. I have both in my properties. I like the Nest but Google really has annoyed me lately.

I have the google nest learning thermostat from a few years ago. Works great but I recently upgraded all my cameras/indoor speakers to ring/alexa. Kind of want to switch the google nest thermostat to this alexa one. Would that be a bad idea? There's really nothing wrong with the google nest.

Oof I already had a hard time controlling myself not to buy these. We just a built a house 2 years ago and have the newest Ecobees so it seems silly to replace them, but our whole house is Alexa/Amazon devices so it just feels right.

I heard these don't work great when you have more than one though? We have two zones (upstairs and downstairs), but the house is only 2 years old so it's not old tech by any means.

Be wary of if this device will be amazon sidewalk compatible or not. Opt-out if you HAVE to buy this thermostat. I agree with others, the nest is a far better thermostat.

Like you, we are mainly ring/Alexa. We use Alexa to control our Nest thermostats and it works perfectly to adjust temperature (you just install a nest app on Alexa).

I was thinking the same thing, being a rebranded Honeywell is a selling point, you'd think Amazon would have tried to co-brand instead of hide it.

Key is 2 zones with 2 thermostat or two zones with 1 thermostat
