This laptop has a 2 core processor. The I3-1125G4 is the processor everyone wants. It has 4 cores and matches the similar I5 chip in performance, with slightly less graphics capability.

You are incorrect about the RAM. This has 8GB on board and one open slot for up to 16GB module for a total possible 24GB. I know because I bought it two months ago and upgraded to 24GB with this stick of RAM [newegg.com].

A word of advice: don't upgrade to Windows 11 -- they haven't worked out all the kinks yet.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this, in fact its better than the staples i3 (128gb SSD & 4 gb RAM) @ $279 which worked out well for a family member even after the win-11 upgrade. Its quick ... I upgraded the ram to 12 gb and its super quick. If all you're looking for is to browse, run some windows software (office, tax s/w etc.) and watch videos - this will work extremely well for most of us. Its a great deal if you ask me, I might have switched to this if I wasnt happy with the Staples i3. I purchased the Target $159 version (64gb SSD) and that was way too slow after a while with zero upgrade options and decided to return it

To put that into perspective… its exactly the same as an i7 3770 which is an older third gen ivy bridge desktop cpu. Not a terrible processor. And it's gonna have modern instruction sets to run virtual backgrounds just fine for zoom and play 4k videos no problem but don't expect to do main stream video editing or graphic or cpu intensive tasks with this system

Just to support what mickybluesb said above... this laptop would be *absolutely fine* for productivity. If you need something for work (e.g. MS Office) this is a great deal.
