Always? I'll disagree with that. There's plenty of furniture they sell that is of good quality.
disagree as well. Have had two pieces from them that are used every day and are holding up great after 2 years...
I've seen them in stores, yes. They are grey. Ignore the pictures in the post. The colors don't match. They look as if someone took a leather sofa and handpainted it grey with house paint—a very cheap look.

Read up on the policy. If you are unhappy and not satisfied, RETURN for full refund..at ANY time (as long as you are a member..
And this is why Costco prices keep rising. Suggesting the returning of a couch after 5-years of use is ridiculous.
It irks me that people buy items to use for a short period of time and think it is ok to return them. Just 2-weeks ago I was walking out and a woman was returning Halloween decorations, some in beat up boxes and some with no boxes.
I've seen snowblowers being returned in spring. Pressure washers being returned in Winter.
Have you not noticed the price increases over the last few years...this is the primary reason so they can recoup costs. I believe these abusers of the policy should not be allowed to renew their membership.
There is no "try your luck". If you have been a continuous Costco member and are unhappy with it you can return it to the store, or if purchased via the web, request a pick up. That's the whole point of their "Lifetime Satisfaction guarantee"...
You can request a pickup? CS told me to bring in couch...

Yawn, said over and over. It's THEIR POLICY! If they are having issues, THEY should change it, like they did a few years back for most electronics. I, personally, would have no qualms at all about returning a peeling couch. Costco does have the right to cancel a persons membership if they choose for any reason and give a refund.
My experience is bad. I wouldn't say all sofas at Costco are bad, but on the leather sofa set (Simon Li) that I bought ~4 years ago, most of the bounded-leather on the sides & back is disintegrating. It is not 100% leather everywhere but "leather-matching" with real leather everywhere you can touch. We barely used the sofa set since it's in basement.
Contacted manufacturer and they told that warranty is only for 1 year. Costco CS told to contact the store manager to try my luck!
That's odd, I literally just got off the phone with the return folks scheduling a pickup on a 6 year old sectional that started peeling. It is the sectional from Abbyson Living that's supposed to be "Top Grade" leather. The problem is that not all parts of it is "Top Grade" and the sides and edges are all bonded leather. We definitely didn't know that and quality leather sofas should certainly last longer than 5-6 years.
Costco didn't give me any hassle in the return. They didn't even ask for pictures, just the old Order #.
link to the one you don't like? I am looking at couches at Costco too
It's the Tisdale. Pretty solid reviews but only had a few months and just sags like crazy. Also, back of one chair was broke upon delivery. Considering getting the Hendley sectional next

This is true, but some people take it too far.
And, regarding returning a couch after 5-years for peeling. Sure, I see no problem if you purchased a warranty. I've had a leather sectional we loved refunded after 2.5 years because the dye was coming off when we wiped it with a wet paper towel. Fortunately, I purchased a warranty on it, but unfortunately the couch was discontinued. Returning a couch to a warehouse store after warranty has expired seems dishonest to me.

If you bought it at the store, you gotta return it to a store.

To each their own I guess.
