I purchase this a few months back refurbished and it literally gave me an error code the second time it went to clean and after doing research it said the error code means it needed replacement hardware, I would pass.

I see it includes a 2 year warranty. Would that fix the hardware?

Probably but remember hardware is hard to come by right now, you might wait months just to get it fixed.

The vSLAM technology on this used for mapping is actually pretty bad. Go with something with LIDAR mapping and you'll be much happier. I just tried this out from Costco, but returned after a week. I ended up with the Roomba j7+ and wow, complete night and day difference. Also tried out the Wyze robot vac with LIDAR and that did way better of a job mapping that this one. First time I ran this one, it came back with a bunch of dings and scrapes...and it's showed on my trim and furniture. Bottomline, not worth it even at this price unless mapping is not that important to you.

I got the i7 refurb off amazon for $485 and it was a night and day improvement over the i3 which I found on SD. Improvement in terms of scheduling flexibility and how quickly it works with the improved optics.

Roombas dual roller and dirt bin sensors are patented. The dual rollers clean better and the dirt bin sensors mean they will self empty or stop cleaning when bin is full. No other robot vacuum have these features and it gives roomba a major advantage.

this has good suction power,it pulls lot of hair for sure, i have two dogs, but the problem i see in i4 and this i7 was it keeps cleaning same area again and again wasting battery, so i just moved to costco one recently with bigger battery.
overall you will have good customer service if you have any issues,my older i7 got replaced from
manufacturer when it gave me some issue within warranty period .

iRobot is occasionally running deals on J7+ on its website at $500. If you have the $500-$100 Amex Offer it would be a no brainer over this.

Just curious if you have any links to when it was $500? I see plenty of $649 with some $100 gift cards. I dont have the $100 amex offer either, unfortunately. Going to give this a shot though.

No but I was monitoring for sometime, last time it was in Nov and I guess there might be another one near Christmas but I'm not sure.

Also there are some CB you can stack but for obvious reasons can't mention it here

How much are they paying you to say this? My roborock e4 sucks much better than my j7. The j7 also gets clogged sometimes. Other features of the j7 all beat the e4 though.

there are so many robotic vacuums out there that do a great job (I have 8 robotic vacuums), that if you dont want to spend this kind of money, go for a different brand....Roomba is good, dont get me wrong, I have 3 of them, but Shark is great, iLife, and many many others...

It's the truth. Do you see dual brushes on any other brand or the ability to let you know when the dirt bin is full. Roombas suck in battery life, don't work in the dark and don't have the best suction power but they do a decent job cleaning.

I have 2 roombas and 2 wyze vacuums.

Being better at mapping with LIDAR probably gets you only so far. vSLAM captures more information. If the algorithms are improved over time (no idea if Roomba releases updates like this), vSLAM may end up yielding similar results at a lower cost.
