The etchings are tiny, hardly noticeable. The bigger concern you should have is what sort of defects these knives have. I got a bunch of knives during the last sale and I couldn't tell much, except 1 that looks like the tip was broken off and they rounded it down.

I picked up 3 small cutting boards and a sharpener this time around. The prices on the knives aren't as great as last time, especially compared to the Kaji initial price mistakes last time.

50% off the Shun website price is pretty relative since other retailers such as Amazon carry their products too at lower prices.

I take it you haven't bought one of their knives from the warehouse sale. The XXXX isn't huge and doesn't stretch across the entire blade. I have bought multiple from them and have only had one show up with a XXXX and it was pretty gosh darn small. The quality of the knives and prices during this sale make it hard to pass up.

Is 400 for a 8" Fuji chef and 6" utility decent? Not up to speed on prices vs quality, but I have been waiting on some new knives.

"And May Have Blemishes/Imperfections."

I dont think they mean physical defects where the knife wont cut properly or break more easily b/c of a physical defect.
