All-time lowest price on Amazon for this knife. IMHO, this is about what most Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops knives are worth. 7Cr17MoV budget Chinese stainless steel with a black oxide coating. Won't hold an edge too long so you will need to sharpen it a little more often, and have a ceramic or diamond rod to sharpen the serrations. Aluminum handles on S&W knives are somewhat famous for screws backing out, but that is easy to fix with a bit of threadlock if it happens. Same if your pivot screw keeps loosening.

All of the S&W knives I've held were built well enough with a strong enough lock up to not be dangerous to the user, and that's at least something. Gerber charges a lot more for knives in the same steel, though their fit, finish and build are superior, IMHO.

It comes down to liking the tactical style of these very budget knives as to whether they are a slick deal for you. S&W seemed to be clearing these out at ridiculous prices over the summer, but we can't go back in time. Not sure what I would recommend as a better knife for similar money, these knives just aren't my personal cup of tea. Doesn't mean you won't love one and it won't open your Amazon packages like a champ.

Bought a bunch of these types of S&W knives for around $3 each when S&W had a blowout sale several months ago. I hate the mechanism they use for closing the knives. It's a lever under the blade/handle that is tough to move and I have to use my index finger to push as doing it with thumb hurts. I much prefer a closing mechanism that's located on the top back of the handle where you easily push down with thumb.
