Kamado Joe® continues its innovation with the Kettle Joe™ – a 22" kettle grill with unique ceramic cooking features that improve heat retention, fuel efficiency, and smoking ability. The 2-Tier Divide & Conquer® system allows you to cook foods at different temperatures. The grill also comes with the revolutionary SlōRoller™ Hyperbolic Smoke Chamber insert, which harnesses the power of cyclonic airflow technology to control heat and smoke at smoking temperatures.
The Kettle Joe™ has a 22" surface for a total of 363 sq. in.
Efficient ceramic firebox allows for longer cooking times using less charcoal
The grill has an adjustable hinge which allows you to keep the lid attached instead of having to fully remove and handle the lid
Adjust the hinge to its highest setting and insert the SlōRoller™ Hyperbolic Smoke Chamber to smoke at temperatures up to 500°F
Remove the SlōRoller™ Hyperbolic Smoke Chamber and lower the hinge to grill at temperatures up to 700°F
Folding side shelves allow for a larger prep area while in use and when folded, the versatile side shelves allow for easy storage
Ash drawer allows you to clean the ashes without removing the inside components which results in a quick and easy cleanup

No, this isn't better than a Kamado grill, mainly due to heat retention. But it is a great charcoal grill and smoker because of the added slow roller. If I didn't already have the classic 1, I'd get this.
If you do get this grill you have to get some gasket and seal both the lid and the slow roller as it's not very tight.
Having said that, the smoke it does produce is far superior compared to my Weber kettle.
I've had do problem maintaining temps in my performer with the sns, but I use briquettes. Lump can be a little too not uniformly shaped so temps can fluctuate. Lump in the Weber Kamado, however, is excellent!

I sold my Weber gas grill. Bought a Yoder .. bought a flat top... Sold my other Weber and now getting this
Depends on what you want to cook and how much. Also what pellet grill you are talking about. A all ceramic Kamodo you can load up with lump and get 18-24 hr cooks with great temperature retention and control, but may be more limited in cooking space compared to pellet grills. With a pellet grill, you have a wide range of build qualities and automatic feeding/control options but generally speaking they usually have more cooking space.
nevermind, this is not ceramic

From what I've gleaned, lump isn't good for low and slow cooking.
