I asked Amazon for the $2 back - they refused, so I am returning to Amazon and picking up from Walmart.

I cannot believe it costs less than the $2 for Amazon to have to ship my item back and restock it - silly company policy, in my opinion
The same could be said of the effort, gas, and time you'll spend to get 2 bucks back Wink

For them it is probably the policy that's important. A million people asking for a few bucks back adds up.

At the same time, a few million people requesting returns adds up as well, even more so.

But they seem to be doing fine as a company so who am I to judge their business model

It's been out since 2017. You can find extensive videos and complete walkthrus and judge. It is arguably the flagship game of the switch.

Understood that everyone is in a different situation - for me Amazon has made it ridiculously easy to return - literally a UPS store (no box required) in the same shopping center as the Walmart we already need to go to for groceries...Or, Kohl's - in another shopping area we frequent often. So for me, the time and hassle is minimal (and gas basically non-existent since I'm already there), but you're right, for some it's not worth the $2

Most likely the decision is made through a auto matrix or such. I work in logistics and when it comes to returns or overages or anything of the such. All info is plugged into a "Matrix" formulas do all of the math and spits out either "Return" or " Dispose".

So its not a individual person deciding purely based on what the Matrix says.

I love the kohl's return. They some times give you $5-10 coupon and this time I got 5 and had $10 email coupon so I got Mario mug cup that changes color for hot and cold for free. It was priced $25 but on sale to 15. LoL it was such an wonderful present from them.
