I was quite curious of the Ikea ones so I went to store to check it out. I have to say I was a little underwhelmed for the 99 one. The one that looks like a wall art selling for 199 sounds better. A few days ago, it was on sale for $150 which I think is a good deal for the quality. But I debated for the form and finally decided to not go for it. There was ikea 20% GC on the same day so if combined, that's a really nice deal for those who like that form. I just don't know how I would like it on the wall and how to place it in my house.

I two Sonos SL one and one IKEA bookshelf speaker. The Sonos has better lows, but the mids and highs on the IKEA are very similar. I am not an audiophile.

To me, it would be. I don’t know the commitment to support the older products. I'd spend a bit more to have more peace of mind.

You'll have reduced sound quality, how that works depends on the headboard material (ex., if it's a stuffed one you'll have some muffling, wood has its own properties, etc.), but I see no reason why it wouldn't *work*. Honestly, just put a speaker in your headboard and see how it sounds to decide yourself. A small portable speaker, your phone, something. Obviously won't be 1:1, but A:B'ing the sound of it will give you some general idea.

I have two Sonos ONE with the Sanus aftermarket wall mounts use an OEM mount for my ARC. No issues with aftermarket for me.
