Unpopular opinion apparently, but I don't mind paying an extra $10 for an upgraded version of an old game. They made these a while ago and then had to go back and do more work to apply the upgrades, so I don't think it's crazy for them to get a modest fee for that, or else they have no incentive since people probably aren't still buying those older games. I almost definitely would never have gone back and played either game without an upgrade, and I still might not, but at least with the upgrade I will consider it since it would be a better experience. By contrast, I wouldn't want to have to pay extra for new gen stuff on a NEW game since that's basically the default now.

That's my understanding as well, you're SOL if you're a digital PS5 owner with a PS4 disc for either game, though.

BC and Smart Delivery/next gen upgrades are 2 COMPLETELY different things, I think you got confused there.

So I own the PS4 disc copies of the two games (separately). Not clear if the PS5 upgrade (for the disc console) is $10 for each, or $10 for both.

He's saying you may be required to have the actual ps4 lost legacy disc to play lost legacy portion of the ps5 upgrade collection

Meh this would just be a free next gen patch on xbox. It's nice it's coming to PC, but if I already bought all these on PS4 then seems lame to charge at all. Even 3rd party companies give you free next gen upgrades.

At least Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding had new content. This just seems like a next gen patch.

Typical Sony greed. People bitched about Horizon upgrade not being free and Sony said ok fine, you get this one free and going forward everything else will cost $10-20 to upgrade, whereas Microsoft has a huge list of Smart Delivery games. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/...d#thetable

I would assume that you would only need the physical disk for one of the PS4 games.
