Calm down Tiger.. we're all just trying to learn using the legally available tools to get proficient at the game.
I play golf weekly. I used to use my phone until I was often off by 10-20 yards. Green depths, flag positions, not to mention elevation and gps inaccuracy. I bought a cheap Amazon range finder, I'm now the same player as before. But at least I can't blame it on the equipment
Amazon reviews say don't buy out doesn't work properly

Yes I bought a Tasco on sale as well that wish I wouldn't have bought. It's pretty much junk after 180- 200 yards.

Anyone ever use a product like this with model rocket launches?

Good luck!

Better spending your money on lessons to improve the operator instead of gadgets. Most apps including free ones, will give you accurate distance. You'll always have your phone, not always for this device.
Or possibly, just possibly, someone who already knows how to play needs one of these. Plus, not all courses are on all apps.

I use these hunting to get yardage for deer/turkey. I've never golfed. These gadgets have multiple use for those wondering why people want these.

Apps on the phone are horribly inaccurate. However, dedicated gps like a Garmin or sky caddie are much better alternatives. Personally, I like a dedicated gps from the tee box and lasers inside 150 or so.

Yea, recent is pretty sketchy.

As a kid, I had a Tasco telescope. Nothing screams quality like Radio Shack.

Never heard of this brand but the price is good. Does anyone have experience with this? I bought a rangefinder that was made for hunting and it works well but I just have to shoot the laser a few times if there's a lot of noise behind the flag
Tasco's been around for ages. Way back in the day they were OK. Now they fill the 'Walmart price and quality' niche of optics, i.e. something you might put on a pellet gun, but that's about it.

I have no experience with this product.

Typical comment from someone that doesn't know what they are talking about.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. I play with a friend who bought this very model. Used it myself. My comment remains the same.

You said "spend money on lessons to improve the operator instead of gadgets". You didn't comment on this device at all. You were making a statement that rangefinders aren't as good as phone gps apps, because they were a gadget.

Go look at anyone who can actually play, tell me what they use to prepare for a tournament round. They are using rangefinders to document distances in their yardage books. They are more accurate than a phone gps. Gps is helpful for layup and hazard yardages that a laser can't hit.

A range finder isn't some wonky training aid, the lesson comment was a dumb one, because rangefinders are a beneficial tool that anyone who knows how to play golf can benefit from...and can speed things up instead of searching for and stepping off yardage from sprinklers.

BTW, based on the ratings, people think that comment was a bit of a trolling response as well.

No they don't. As someone who has a Bushnell laser and has compared to the phone gps, I can 100% tell you the phone gps is NOT giving accurate distances at all. I've seen it off by almost 10 yards at times, typically off either way by 5-8 yards. That can result in a 3 club difference if you trust the inaccurate numbers. You don't have to buy a laser but your kidding yourself if you think the phone is accurate.
Wait 5-8 yards is a 3 club change for you? 🤔🤔

As a lefty, using my phone is a PITA because I wear my glove on my right hand so when I'm in the Fairway trying to get yardage I don't have time to take my glove off to manipulate my phone. The rangefinder always works.
I agree. My phone is right handed too

i use a garmin watch and it works great. i like how quick it is. i have compared to friends w range finder and is accurate. but there's definitely a role for a range finder.

Dude, just stop replying; you're getting dunked on. Rangefinders have a place, but for some reason, you want to keep being wrong.
