Calm down Tiger.. we're all just trying to learn using the legally available tools to get proficient at the game.
I play golf weekly. I used to use my phone until I was often off by 10-20 yards. Green depths, flag positions, not to mention elevation and gps inaccuracy. I bought a cheap Amazon range finder, I'm now the same player as before. But at least I can't blame it on the equipment

Better spending your money on lessons to improve the operator instead of gadgets. Most apps including free ones, will give you accurate distance. You'll always have your phone, not always for this device.

These are more accurate (not that we can dial our distances to that accuracy) and you can know exactly distances over bunkers, water hazards, etc.

Never heard of this brand but the price is good. Does anyone have experience with this? I bought a rangefinder that was made for hunting and it works well but I just have to shoot the laser a few times if there's a lot of noise behind the flag

As a lefty, using my phone is a PITA because I wear my glove on my right hand so when I'm in the Fairway trying to get yardage I don't have time to take my glove off to manipulate my phone. The rangefinder always works.

What? I'm a lefty. You can't use your left hand to use your phone? Huh

No they don't. As someone who has a Bushnell laser and has compared to the phone gps, I can 100% tell you the phone gps is NOT giving accurate distances at all. I've seen it off by almost 10 yards at times, typically off either way by 5-8 yards. That can result in a 3 club difference if you trust the inaccurate numbers. You don't have to buy a laser but your kidding yourself if you think the phone is accurate.

Apps on the phone are horribly inaccurate. However, dedicated gps like a Garmin or sky caddie are much better alternatives. Personally, I like a dedicated gps from the tee box and lasers inside 150 or so.
