There's an older model at $83. What's the difference other than the probe?

That's the important part. I've gotten a few induction cooktops in the past and they had 10" circles, but the heating element was only 5-6"

Yup. I've been disappointed a few times with small heating coils

This one is 1800 watts vs 1500 watts for the other model

They each have a use, I bought the 10.25" model with the 6.5" coil for portability and use with a power station. It has 3 power settings 600-900-1300w and is the perfect size for me. The largest burner on my stove at home is only 11" so it's what I'm used to using anyway. Most of my cooking is with an 8" or 10" skillet.
