Pre pandemic I bought another set but the same weights for $110. This seems to be good given that it has Dumbbell rods also.

It's a decent price for useful stuff.

But for anyone who is younger or more than very casual about lifting, there's a lot of obscure amounts of weights.

Like who the hell wants 8 4.4 pound plates? (I'm assuming this product wasnt designed for the USA with the emphasis on kg)

To me if you're anything other than a frail/old person you'd want no more than 4 5s, then a bunch of 10s depending on how serious you are (or potentially more 25s and 45s depending on who you are and what you do)

But to me this product just has you paying for suboptimal weight. If you're super casual or have other things going on the weights here should be more than adequate. If you're the typical person between the ages of teens and 40s, I just don't see why you'd want such an abundance of . 5kg and 2kg plates.

This is not Olympic size plate or bar, correct? Looks standard 1 inch, but it's hard to tell from the pictures and description. Can anyone confirm?

Good looking out!
However, given that Decathlon is a pretty solid 3rd party, I think you're in good hands in this case. You can read more about Decathlon, their 40+ year history, 1709 stores in 60 countries, etc at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dec...(retailer)

Walmart has sold 25 and 45 lb standard plates before, check your store. Usually under $1/lb. I see some brands are still available under $1/lb at Walmart right now, but mostly smaller plates.

This looks like a 60" bar and all the bars are clamp style, not screw style, so may not be as secure. Also not a one piece bar, it comes in two pieces.

This isn't the best deal, but it isn't necessarily bad. I would pass, but if it is what you want, don't have anything right now, and you can't find better go for it.

You are right. It appears that its not an Olympic bar. I am basing this based on a comment on Walmart site that the OP wasn't able to use it in his/her squat rack because its short. Looking at those clips it seems like a 1" receiver as well! Sorry missed it when I posted did not check that.

Something you'll throw away or put out at a yardsale for $10. Just spend a few $$ and get an actual Olympic bar and plates that will last forever.

It must be 8 5lb plates for lazy people like me when doing drop sets. 2 5lb on each dumbbell and no need to switch over to the barbell that's 6 plates and the two extra are for easy weight dropping. i do need at least 6 though not 4. This is also not an Olympic bar I'm assuming which means the set of weights are more suitable for CrossFit/endurance type workouts and dropping 5 pounds in between sets for speed. I see the sense but I also agree there should be more all around.

https://www.decathlon.com/collect...3380359230 Here the Decathlon page and I good with kilos. I just notice that it has cheaper collars so be careful with the dumbbells. I bought a golds gyms with cheap collars smashed my toe doing curls. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1...1607048092
