Also anyone know how long this $50 discount on the 5a is going to be offered?

EDIT: I found it good through Dec 26th.

Apple is as bad - and apparently signed a secret deal with the Chinese government.

Samsung disables eSIM functionality on their flagship models (and claims it's because the carriers won't allow it - although Google and Apple seem to be able to persuade the carriers).

Motorola's only eSIM offering is the razr - and it's single sim to boot.

So who should I buy from, if I'm looking for 5G / dual sim with eSim?

Picked one up for Black Friday and so far it's been really good. Wish it were the same size as my old Pixel 4a but everything else is great.
As did I. This is the same price as the BF deal, correct?

I traded in an iPhone XR as the $320 value is pretty good. Its only downside is Google refunds you back the money later, so you end up paying the sales tax on the $320 you hopefully get back, as opposed to Samsung who gives you the discount up front and hence doesn't tax unless the trade in is denied. Samsung also allows two phone trade in, but the second one has no 'bump' and the bump on the first is different.

For non Google Fi customers paying $50 extra at Google Store over the Google Fi deal is a no brainer as you get $60 of unlimited service included for free, while you could pay $50 less but then have to pay $60 to keep that discount -- effectively paying $10 more.

I ordered mine Friday, shipped same day, and says will be delivered Tuesday. Via Fedex which is always likely the biggest risk with this deal (See former Google deals about phones being missing...)

This should drop to $300 when the 6a comes out.. they'll have to price the 6a around 450-500 or otherwise the 5a won't have anymore appeal.

It's a deal at 400, but still waiting for it to drop a little bit more... My 2XL is still chugging along with good battery life.
The 6a will replace the 5a and that will not be for probably another 8 months, i doubt this will ever hit $300 be being discontinued.

Nope, Samsung is enabling esim. I have it on my galaxy s21 snapdragon version.

Razor has one sim? LoL. It's actually 2. I regular sim and 1 esim. 1+1= 2. Come on man'

Tax is on MSRP of phone ... Not trade in value

Quick question. Is the Pixel 6 series is the only one that supports eSim?

I read the horror stories of people on Fi. I thought they were exaggerated or unlucky. I ended up doing the subscription in September. A few months later and I'm ready to cancel and pay full price for the 5a just to dump Fi. In all my years off dealing with lousy cell carriers Fi had been the absolute worst. $9/month for 24 months for the phone is just amazing on paper but so not worth the hassle of Fi.

That said, the phone is amazing. Have had many Pixel and Nexus devices and the 5a is the favorite, best value, phone. Very solid price at $400.

Is it worth it to sign up for Google One 2TB for $9.99 that gives you 10% discount at Google Store?

399.00 - 39.9=359.10
+tax
+9.99 (1 month of Google One)

Nope. I have a Pixel 4a 5G that has eSIM, the Pixel 5 did - in fact the Pixel 2 & 2XL had it, but was only supported on Google FI.

Other brands with eSIM include the iPhones, Moto Razr, Samsung international models but not US..

This phone has serious red or green tint issues when viewing a gray background at night. I replaced 4 times and all had the same problem.
