Anyone else questioning the 500 lbs rating on this shelving? When I moved into my current house a neighbor bought similar racks like this but the stuff for closets you get at Home Depot. The neighbor had it all over his garage. On two different occasions we heard the bins falling to the floor when the shelvings buckled from the weight.

If anyone wants a cheap and easily to assemble bike storage this is by far the best system i have seen. I bought the parts which are conveniently in the video description and it was not hard to install. My wife loves it as you can moves the bikes together and slide them over when you want to get one out.

Saferacks seems to be a well reviewed company. Just because it looked similar doesn't mean it is the same thing.

Well, your neighbor done farked up... There is a reason why they're meant for closets... If they are anything like the one I have in my closet, all they're held on to is the drywall with a super basic plastic drywall anchor that is just tightened into place with a nail. Yes, not even a screw. Just a nail you tap in with a hammer, into the drywall... You should see where this is going. In any case, this shelving manual recommends lining up the support brackets to actual 2x4s and with actual stud screws. So this should be much much better at supporting weight already, not to mention the brackets look sturdier and they suggest using more brackets per shelf than Rubbermaid easy shelf system.

what you have in your closet and what this is are very different.

your shelf is meant to hold folded clothes and hung up shirts. if you're putting anything heavier on there, you should relocate the supports to the studs behind the drywall.
even then, good luck!

if you click through to costco and read the assembly manual and you will see that it is required to install to studs. seems like a good deal for the right spot in your house.

don't get the stuff for closets. get the stuff for garages and install into actual 2x4 studs.

Back in early Sep 2021, the 18"x48" 2 pack was $49.99. They are well made. I hope the price comes back down.

For anyone wondering. These are online only. I visited a warehouse and they ran the item code to check inventory. Online order only.
Ordered 4, Jan first week delivery. (2x18", 2x24")
