I'd probably spend $200 more and get a Recteq RT-590. Much better build quality than Traeger.
Cons, no traeger sticker. Pros, get to grab the bull by the horns

Yeah when I was looking into buying a pellet grill earlier this year, I initially started looking at Traegers. They are the most famous, and I thought they were a very premium product, so that's what I figured I'd get. I figured I would just get one from Costco when they go on sale.

Anyways, once I started looking into things, I decided to either get a Recteq or Grilla. I decided to go with the Recteq since they seem heavier duty and more robust than the Grillas. More stainless steel with the Recteq too.

But yeah, it does seem that Grilla makes a great pellet grill at a good price. They are just a bit cheaper than Recteq too.
I agree. I saw my first Recteq the other day in person and the thing was built like a tank. It reminds me of my made in America Weber Genesis back in the day. As for the Grilla or the RT, I don't think you can go wrong with either one of them. Great support and customer service.

Great deal for a Traeger. I love mine, but I have one with the Super Smoke feature which this one does not.
Some people have been throwing smoke tubes in for more smoke. Just a tip for others.

Does recteq have sales every year? This is the first time I've seen them have a sale.

Overrated and made in China. When my pellet grill needs replacing it won't be with a Traeger. Between not being made in America, them saying using any pellets other than Traeger will void your warranty, and the Traeger pellets being random hardwood flavored with oil I don't ever plan on buying any of their grills.

Yup, that's the Genesis that I have, an older stainless S-310 with the knobs on the right side shelf, back when it was still made in America. I would say my old Genesis definitely seems stronger than the new ones I see at the store. I guess the new ones use thinner gauge steel?

Anyways, I would say the RT-700 still seems quite a bit more robust than my Weber Genesis.

You are correct, probably more robust it just reminded me of how beefy the old Genesis felt. This one was a Bull, and it was huge! Only problem is I have yet to eat off of one of them. :-)

Can you grill pros give me a suggestion for a regular grill? Pellet grills are meant for smoking and slower cooking, right?
I currently have an aging 3 burner Weber and am ready to upgrade.

I know its not on the same level as a higher end pellet grill but I picked up a Camp Chef 30and Sportsman's sent me a 20% off coupon which made it a super Slick deal. $449 on sale and then rec'd another 20% off that price!

I jiust thought the Trager wasn't that much better to spend the extra cash

I have about $500 in gift cards from home Depot, also about as much in rebates from Menards. I am willing to spend another 300 to 500 on top of this. What would be the best option for me? Definitely looking for a grill with Wi-Fi option for temperature changes and notifications. Thank you in advance grill gurus!
