I just want the damn card. Will gpus ever be available solo again at retail?
Great question, but unfortunately my crystal ball is in the shop again.

There are some folks, on Youtube I believe, who have bought knock-offs from Alibaba. Thought the brand was Veneinda or something like that. Crazy idea. Desperate times.

I just want to throw it out there for people. These CPU's are very good but they run very hot. You need an aftermarket cooler to keep the PC from throttling. They have Small Form Factor 120mm coolers that will fit in the case.

I think the graphics card market is fixed with supply being controlled right now. I think if you want it now, go for it. I think graphics card prices will come down in the next 2 or 3 months.

Thank you for the informative comparison.
Any recommendations for pre-built 3080 or 3080ti?
I'd like to know the best price for new i7 and 3080 too.

About $1,800. Sometimes cheaper. I've bought two from dell and they run pretty cool.

Microcenter. You have to be there in-person when they open, but they basically get all Nvidia and AMD cards, regularly.

Not bad.

Would be worth mentioning in the description that it also includes a DVD Writer.
Is the DVD writer at least 8x? This is important to me.

2 upgrades are needed for this:
1) memory: add another 8GB. Dell is picky, go with this: https://www.crucial.com/memory/dd...ct19034851
2) CPU cooler is bad, change it with Vetroo V5 (easy to change and fits in the case)

$30 each

I wish I could actually build this PC myself using customizable and upgradeable parts. Instead of this proprietary monstrosity. One day...hopefully.
Is it hard to use pcpartpicker and price out the same build? I think it will be a good $500-600+

This has become less true recently. Most stores have a lottery or raffle system. You register before at between 8:00 and 8:30 am... then you get randomly selected. And you know before hand what cards they have but they seem to be more infrequent than earlier.

My local one didn't have a drawing for about 2 weeks or so, then finally had one with 15 or so 3060 Tis.

Does anyone know if this system comes with onboard graphics as well? I'm getting conflicting answers from Dell. Thanks!

It lists both DisplayPort 1.2 (UMA only) and HDMI 1.4 (UMA only) but also says "Ports may vary depending on graphics card." Which depending on the customer service agent I speak with May or May. Or apply to onboard graphics or the dedicated GPU.

Normally, I would say that a non-"F" series Intel CPU like this i5-11400 would have iGPU. However, Dell has done you a dirty here, and turned off the iGPU on this CPU.

See page 19 here: https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/xps..._en-us.pdf

EDIT: I might be wrong...I thought I read in an official (Dell? HP?) owners manual that they were disabling the non-F iGPUs, too but can't remember where I saw it.

And I probably saw what happened to this fellow (I realize this is HP) https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Des...-p/8079140

Thanks for this, but I'm still a little confused. The doc says F series don't have iGPU. Where does it list it's been "turned off"? And can it be turned back on if the dedicated GPU is removed? Thank you!
