From experience Ozark trail quality is pretty low but Advent calendar is just too much fun

Nope, there's not going to be any premium items in this kit, but from experience I can say the Ozark Trail Knives I have owned or handled have all been built sturdy enough to be safe to use as the tools they are. Years ago I read posts from one of the Walmart guys who was responsible for finding manufacturers for the line, and he said they use very budget steel (probably something in the 3rc13 range) but they refused to compromise on the build quality (out of fear of liability, I assume.)

Overall, this is a pretty good deal for what you get and would make a great gift for a young person. I feel that way about Ozark Trail knives in general. They are sturdy and get the job done on the ultra cheap. You'll never impress anyone with one, not unless they are a deal monger, too, and you impress them with a $4 knife that doesn't scream "gas station knife!"
