I have this for the 10.5 earlier generation Pro. I like it. But a few caveats, it adds a significant amount of bulk to the case; there seems to be a battery drain issue when connected an idle; sometimes you need to remove and attach the keyboard. I got mine for about half the price their asking for the current generation 12.9. I don't know if the more recent versions fixed some of the problems I have with mine.

The battery drain is slightly more due to the keyboard drawing power from the iPad.
I agree with you on the bulk; it's protected better than a cheaper case though.
It adds slightly more weight but you get more out of it from the keyboard and kickstand.
What's the difference between this and the Apple brand one?? Like main difference looking to by a iPad right now and need a keyboard to take with me portability

By Weight both are same. I have used both . I liked this one more and returned the apple magic keyboard for reasons below-
1. Additional function key row and larger trackpad. Very useful while consuming media plus changing brightness etc
2. Keyboard is detachable which removes some bulk if not used
3. The case which comes with it provides kickstand ability and full protection
4. Typing and trackpad experience same as amk
5. Dust and stain not much noticeable in the gray/sand colors as compared to white in amk

Like if I detached the keyboard from the iPad is there still a part that wraps around and can protect the screen without needing to bring the keyboard with me?

Honestly you can get the magic keyboard on sale for around the same price pretty frequently

I searched SD and I'm seeing $250 for the 12.9 5th gen Magic Keyboard. Can you please point me to one for $200?
