For those curious. These are pretty good mag holders and are actually the only dewalt magnetic bit holders that don't cause the bit to get stuck (making it impossible to pull out w.o pliers).

The only downside to these is they aren't impact rated. So Drill / Screwdrivers only. (Someone correct this statement if wrong but the labels I had for these didn't state they were impact rated.)

No straight shank bits like in this kit get stuck in any of the bit holders.

The ones that do get stuck in some bit holders that have the wire friction ring, are those like these [amazon.com] that are designed for direct to impact or screw guns. That groove on the shaft locks them in, but also makes for difficult removal with some bit holders that have the friction wire to better hold straight bits..

The holders are fine for an impact, clutched screw gun, or clutched drill. Obviously, only the shorter of the bit holders will fit in the case. As far as bits, even the so called 'impact ready' DeWalt bits have been too soft. I would rather have a bit break, than round off the tip while damaging the screw. If you cannot find made in the USA Apex at a reasonable cost, the torsion type Milwaukee or Makita have been better bits for hardness.

As a package deal with case, $7 is fine.

I have had these for years. I used them with every type of Drill/Impact. While not impact rated, I have not had any issues for the most part. DeWalt does make impact-rated Sleeves, they are usually black. The one that I messed up was because the internal lock fell out of the groove and jammed when I went "Full Throttle" and probably seized it to the body.

This is a good price I have seen these from $9-$12 on Amazon and Home Depot.

I have this set and it is good.

Lube the sleeve up occasionally, and it will last quite a while

I don't believe there is a 'sleeve' on this set. As shown by the bits sticking out, these are just two different lengths of solid bit holders and only the shorter one fits in the case.

Great, as one can drive the sliding sleeve off and have a narrow bit driver.

Do they both fit in the case?

Short one fits in the case, long one is longer than the case itself

Indeed not impact rated. Like, not even once. The body is aluminum. Mine fell apart after attempting to remove one nut. Grabbed it without paying attention. (You will too) I was surprised it failed immediately.

Thanks for mentioning about if these drives result in stuck bits. That is exactly the feedback I wanted to hear about since otherwise I was nervous about buying them.

No stuck bits.

I just drove in 2 boxes of 3 inch GRK #10 Cabinet screws, into the studs of a 100 year old house on a kitchen remodel

Used DCF887 impact driver, the longer extension from this kit, and the T25 bit that came with the screws

It held up, no problem.

These last about a year of daily use, in my experience. Then the sleeve wears through, or binds up and no longer spins. I try to keep it lubed

I've been using these sleeves even before impacts were out and when they finally were the norm I've used these sleeves and broke only one in all the years I been using them, the Montana brand is the same setup but made in the USA.

I bought these last year packaged as a different set. They sheared after one day of light use. The bits get stuck now.
