I prefer open source software personally too. I don't support or believe in the concept of proprietary software like roku anymore especially if I have other options available. That's why I refuse to touch anything Apple.

-AI upscaling is really good
-Has 2 USB slots (load apple screensaver videos on usb to run local) and has Ethernet connection
-Plex Server
-Has a remote app and can also page the actual remote if you cant find it.
-Games run really well no lag (Stadia, GeForce Steam)
Honestly this thing is a beast and it's worth the price tag
It also brings gigabit Ethernet where it seems even the best tvs are still 100mb.

It's also slightly faster and supports Dolby Atmos sound. Don't think my old Denon 4310ci receiver does but I'll probably eventually upgrade to one that does.
My old Sheild the fan is noisy as well now and it seems hard to find the newer 3 screw fan for it.
looking forward to getting it and seeing how much better it is.

I don't think there's a buyers market for the old ones...

Still rocking mine. Will update if they released a SoC upgrade one in a near future, 2022/2023.
