In case you're wondering, here's how the rate is computed:
Composite rate =
I bought $10k in denominations of 2,3, 5 so if I want to cash out I can do it in chunks instead of having to cash out $10k.: Better than any CD or bank rate if you want to stay in cash.

Interest rate GAURANTEED for 6 months and must keep money with us for 5 years to avoid all penalties. R U Kidding me.
The title of this thread is also misleading... it is as if you can keep your money for 6 months @7.12%... which is not true if you also pay a 3 month penalty. Am I missing something?

This is for people who have money sitting around they don't need. I'm using the same money I have to lock up periodically for bank bonuses. At the very least I'll get 300 and some change on 10k after a year. If the rate is competitive in the second six months, even better.
