Someone did post in the Samsung flip thread that they did this for Samsung flip and didn't have to pay anything to T mobile at all since the phone was already unlocked and purchased outright.

The response from the other thread is pasted below

I paid $0 to cancel a never-activated line. When you pick up the phone from bestbuy do not put that sim inside. Put any other sim in. When you call T-Mobile, if you never jotted down the never activated Ph #, you can use the SIM card it came with to look up the never activated account to be able to cancel . It's $0 cause the line was never activated and because you bought unlocked outright
For everyone looking for how to finesess this deal:

1. Follow steps as mentioned in Wiki (if you get that error, its most likely a authentication error where TMO can't verify your credentials i.e. social w/ ID) you can try doing this in person at a BB store. I was getting this error despite checking everything 15x, finally tried doing it on the mobile BB site and it worked.
2. Do not insert your SIM into the phone. When you sign up online, as you are about to check out, you'll have to agree with the tmobile terms and conditions.. THIS IS WHERE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IS LISTED. WRITE IT DOWN OR SCREENSHOT.
3. Call 1 800 T MOBILE, tell CS agent that you wish to cancel the line (you can make up whatever excuse you want)
4. If they mention "are you returning a device to the store?" say NO. There is no device associated with your new line/account.
5. They'll cancel your account effective immediately.
6. The phone is FACTORY UNLOCKED, can be used with any compatible provider.

I was able to do this process for 2 phones. $400+tax for a FACTORY UNLOCKED S21 5G is a great deal imo.
why did this get downvoted to oblivion. isn't it a super good deal? you're not locked into tmobile.. just cancel the first day and you essentially get an S21 for $400? cheapest mint condition on swappa is like $680

Question for those who ordered online, when should I call T-Mobile to cancel the service?
a) right after the order is placed?
b) when receiving email stating the phone has been shipped?
c) when receiving the phone?

TIA

If I get this and select in store pickup, will BB insert the SIM card before pickup? In other words, would it be better to have it shpped and wait 3 more days

Did anyone read T-Mobile agreement we sign when purchasing these?

Cancellation Policy. You may cancel your Rate Plan by going back to the original point of purchase and returning all devices you acquired with your activation within 30 days from your activation date (Cancellation Period). You may have to pay a restocking fee for any Device you return.
I think they're talking about equipment purchased through T-Mobile. You're buying an Unlocked S21 which they have no say over.

Made 2 orders for me and my wife with 2 new T-Mobile account yesterday night, scheduled to deliver today.
1 hasn't been shipped yet.

Anothet was shipped this morning, but returened to bestbuy due to shipping issue(even a carrier didn't attempt to deliver). Email and site say they'll refund. By this order, I got only NoNeed T-Mobile account and line. This is the scam...

In a nutshell:
Bought a phone at bestbuy instore with tmobile new line,
Forgot to note down phone number,
Called tmobile, pulled up account with ssn,
Canceled- no questions asked, will await text as well as email confirmation for the same
Short story:
-Out of BB store with (3) three phones each cost $399.99 + $26.50 tax = $426.49 each. took almost 2 hours for three separate transactions.
-Was not able to cancel right away on three phone calls (2) hours phone calls.
-Was advise to call tomorrow again to have the system pick up all the information to cancel.
-I will update again. 12/20/2021 @11:06p
-Finally, all three lines have been canceled after three phone calls @ 12:09p the next day. LOL
-I asked if I need to return the phone to T-Mo, she said, No, since it was fully paid from BB. The phone is mine or I can return it to the BB store if I wanted. But why would I Smilie
-I am going to wait 24 hours or couple of days and put my verizon SIM to see if it works. For now I am going to sleep and let the phone rest for couple days. @12:22a
-I will follow up later with Verizon sim and order Mint Mobile and finally QUIT VERIZON!!!!

A long story:
I follow the same directions: went to Tmobile, a new line with new phone numbers, I got the (3) phones. one transaction at a time, and they had to open one phone out of the box to put the sim card in it to get the activation code for the 2nd 3rd phone. NO CHARGES FOR SIM & NO ACTIVATION. BB gave me three print out of service terms, which had three separate phone numbers. each phone number had service terms with weird breakdowns. I picked the T-Mobile Essentials plans. total of $105 Monthly charges according to the charge cheat sheet BB used to show me.

Line 1: Monthly charges of $65,
Line 2: Monthly charges of $0 with note "block Content SUB"
Line 3: Monthly charges of $20 with note "block Content SUB"

I am not sure what "block Content SUB" means.
I have been calling the customer service, waiting for 45 min, they answered, and while they were looking for the information, call drop.....
2nd call, connected with another agent, she said, I have to wait for some time like 20 hours???? I think she was not sure. she tried to cancel the three lines, can come back to me said, she was not able to cancel. she said call me tomorrow. I told her to try again, and while she tries to disconnect, the phone call drops again 30 min later.
I am on the 3rd call, on a wait, if they can not cancel then I will call tomorrow morning again. I have been on the phone since 9 pm, now it is almost 11 pm.

Hope all three lines can be canceled.

In a nutshell:
-Bought (3) phones at BestBuy instore with Tmobile new account with 3 lines,
-BB printed out with three new phone numbers,
-Selected T-Mobile Essentials plans (3) lines for $105/month
-Line 1: had to open to insert sim to activate for the next two line's activation code: this can be avoided if you can have an old unlocked phone; BB had to get the activation code via new sim and any unlocked or TMO phone via inserting the new sim for line 1 to receive an activation text for the next (2) lines. But if you only need 1 line like most ppl, then these steps can be skipped. and Pay for the phone and out of the BB store.
-If everything goes to the south, at least I have only one phone that I need to return to the BB store with one restocking fee since it is opened, and the other phones can be returned w/o any fees because it is not an open condition. Hope for the best!!!
-Called Tmobile, pulled up an account with the phone numbers I have provided, But, but,
was not able to cancel, TMO rep said it is too soon to cancel, And they kept on asking the reason to cancel. I told them I wanted to stay with Verizon, they stopped asking.
-I am on my last 3rd call to cancel since 9p, now it is 11:07p, still waiting for the rep to pick up.
-Three times are a charm! All three lines have been canceled at 12:09a the next day! LOL,
-I asked for the confirmation number/email/reference number; Rep said no/no/no, but the lines are canceled and no charges are on the account. because there is no account due to a closed account.
-I was advised, that T-Mo will check if the phone was used any usage, I told them BB agent used the phone for text for the activation to get the other two phones active; she said one phone LINE 1 has two text msg for the activation purpose, she can notate it as not used and there will not be any bill associated, however, T-Mo teams will check all the recorded to make sure there was no usage on the phone. Either way, the phone is not active, any longer, I made sure while I was on the phone with the agent to turn on the phone with a SIM inserted but the phone did not recognize the SIM at all. So it is ALL CANCELLED AND NO BILLS ASSOCIATED, I HAVE FULLY PAID PHONE DON'T NEED TO RETURN IT TO THE STORE PER REP.

Went to the store as I was getting errors online. Had to deal w security verification. Bb rep claims it's soft inquiry. Got the phone and cancelled shortly after. Initially TMobile rep said there was nothing to cancel but I pressed she processed it. I called back to confirm and was told it was pending cancellation tomorrow.

I keep getting this error. I tried different email addresses and logged in from different PCs but still get the error. Any ideas what's causing it?

Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now.
