Still the best novel to film adaptation to date.

Let's hope Amazon doesn't screw up the new series.

If the Wheel of Time series is any indication, I'll still be watching the Peter Jackson trilogies whenever I want a Tolkien quick fix for the next 50 years.

Maybe let's wait and see? I think we can reserve judgement until we've actually seen it?

Reserving judgement is not something the internet does. Ever.

I'll bite at $50. $50 is a nice, round, completely arbitrary number, which I have no good justification for choosing. But I chose it anyway! Big Grin

I thought there was supposed to be a box set with additional features coming out? I haven't seen anything and I keep seeing this version on-sale.

They made a lackluster Ultimate collection with LOTR and Hobbit Trilogy box set for about $200 but it actually missed original supplements so it's being shat on laugh out loud

yeah it's sufficiently away from the timeline we know to where if it's good it's good, but if it's bad we can ignore it - like Star Trek Discovery…

Read the reviews and this also suffers from overuse of DNR resulting in close up shots of actors looking like wax figures. 😖
