Can't charge via Type C right?
Yes it can - 100w max, so you can't game while plugged in on power delivery, but very convenient if you are traveling and don't want to carry that 230W BRICK that it comes with!

Apologies for noob question but how can a slim edition keep cool during gaming? Seems the space would be mandatory for air flow.

I got the 17" GE76 Raider deal (43% sRGB) and after playing Ark on ultra settings for a couple hours the laptop gave up and stopped rendering half the screen 🙃 considering returning it, but just don't see how this wouldn't have the same problem.

Gpu performance matters much more than cpu performance a gaming laptop. And I don't think I'd want the power hungry 12th gen Intel... I'll take ryzen HX or HS all day long....especially on a portable laptop... And a slim one at that (battery life, thin and light)
I never disputed that. I was responding to the question of whether Ryzen or Intel was better.

This is the SLIM edition, it does NOT have a full powered 3060.
It's 85W TGP and up to 100W with dynamic boost. It can reach 100W when cpu load is limited. During combined load, the GPU TGP hovers around 85W to 95W.

It has some customized thermal design and it uses a slightly lower powered version of the GPU. Also use of much efficient Ryzen cpu helps in thermal performance.

I get 6-7hrs
No way you're getting 6-7 hours unless you've done some serious gimping somewhere (60hz screen, running on some low power mode etc) -- I had one of these for a while and while it was an awesome laptop performance wise, battery life was absolutely abysmal, which is ultimately why I returned it. I tried two of them because I thought the battery was defective in the first. As a side note, build quality really surprised me though, it's fantastic.

This is what I mean, lol. A thin-and-light shouldn't only get 2-3 hours, but some folks claim to disable iCue and get 7+ hours! I don't know which would be my experience, and it's pushing me away from this model.

How does this compare with the Legion Pro from Costco selling for $999 right now. Gaming-wise, is this closer to a full 3060 or the 3050?

How is this compared to this Gigabyte AORUS 15

Good advice needed. I still have time return Gigabyte and buy Lenovo. I am not a gamer but need to run some VMs and do lots of browsing and editing.

Was definitely the icue rgb software. Apparently there's 4 Corsair processes you need to disable that are primarily for desktops. Extended my laptop battery life for a good 2-3 hrs. I believe gaming on all laptops is abysmal. And you really don't need 165hz typing up documents unplugged either way. So it's a combination of setting the laptop for work mode vs play mode that will get you the 7+ hrs

Except there is a way - I'm getting 6-7 hours.

If you do some reading, you'll find that the iCue software that comes pre-installed is a big piece of the problem. Disable that iCue software and you'll see it. I left refresh rate on my screen at high.

Hold off for the 12th Generation CPUs, if you can. They are a significant improvement.
Wait for the 13th generation much more improvement over the 12th smh
