If you're not out in the boonies, check your local market place (FB, CL, OU, etc) for bookshelf speakers. A lot of people sell some seriously high end ones for very cheap. Some of the older ones are really nice too as long as they have good foam surrounds. My favorite set so far have been Boston Acoustics A60s that I got in mint shape for $80. Just picked up a nice set of AE aesprit 300s for $100 yesterday, they retailed for $700 20 years ago. A lot of people will demo them for you too which I suggest.
Sorry, no comment on this specific deal. Just a bit of general advise for those just looking for their first set of bookshelf speakers.
That was a better deal. I ordered it myself and sold the headphones right away for $50 and there was cb as well, speaking of which it's currently 10% on rak.
This is still a great deal though, and much cheaper than usual. I'm listening to them right now and they are fantastic imo.

Slick price, and I love mine but man they are big. Almost too large for the desktop (be sure you have the space.) They're pretty darn good in the living room too up on stands.
Good sounding speakers, but man are they ugly IMO.
If you're handy and into DIY, the C-Sharp or C-Note speaker kits from Parts Express would be a very similar, great sounding flat responding speaker. You can finish them to your own taste.

Agreed. I picked up a pair of $1000 NHT tower speakers at a thrift store for $50. I did need to replace a 50 cents popped capacitor on the crossover.
Great speakers, purchased for $250 a pair earlier this year. This is a great deal.
Have 4 of these wall-mounted as surrounds in my 7.2.4 set up paired with the 590s.
