"Up to 90 MB/s".. I'm at a local Costco, and that spec is listed on the back of the packaging.

That 512 Samsung is a step down from this Sandisk. The Next Generation is pretty close and costs $70 shipped from Amazon.

It's a deal for Costco subscribers. It says Costco in the thread title. If you don't have a membership, you can easily skip it.

Sounds like a garbage camera.

If your camera is set to take a 50 MP photo, it should write a 50 MP photo. The only thing a slow card will do is delay the writes (which will go to buffer). If you keep snapping photos, the buffer will fill up and then it will tell you to hold your horses till its done writing.
For photos, since that's basically a single "frame", that's essentially true, which means fewer pictures taken in a short time frame. For video recording, it can't wait to buffer, so what happens if it can't keep up? It'll drop the bitrate to just below the write speed, resulting in lower quality video. Faster card = better recording.

yup, stuff online is a bit more expensive by a few dollars. But think about it this way - the time and gas spent to travel to the store and the time spent in line to check out and then driving home.

Yea since the majority of people live in Flint...
Tap water being non-potable is extremely common in the USA. Places built on old farm land also can't even use Brita filters to make the water safe to drink. Shocking but not surprising given how shit our infrastructure is and how much industrial waste leeching there is.

This paired with a USB 3.0 adapter would be good to run Xbox One games on a Series S/X, right? Original HDD speeds were 90MB reads and tons of seek time.
Not necessarily. SD cards have trouble sustaining read and write times like SSDs/HDDs so a long game load may come to halt in the middle due to the SD card not being able to handle it. That said... worth a shot to try and report back the results. This would be good for holding ROMS for emulators though.

Just got mine today. Read speeds are similar to the A1 model, but write speeds are through the roof at about 80 MB/s for the A2 model in this deal.

Does costco have problem with fake cards like other retailers? Or do they have better supply chain?
Mine was delivered in a huge box using the huge display card you see on the shelves at Costco, but, according to CrystalDiskMark and H2testw [lo4d.com], it's legitimate.

A2 should be faster assuming all the stars align.
Thanks!
Update here. This A2 card smokes A1 cards at write speeds but read speeds are about the same. Great deal!

Regarding those display card yeah lol I remember the first time I saw that huge display card in Costco (btw I'm Indonesian who frequently visits my brother in Houston, TX almost every year before the pandemy).

I once ordered through amazon for their 256gb Samsung select microsd card for my switch. It came in a huge box that could fit two boxes of adult sneakers. Just wow.

Btw thanks for the reply, tbh I never had bad experience buying microsd cards in the US.

I had not been to a cosco for probably 20 years. I went in last week and walked through the store just to see if anything had changed, or if I could see anything I would regularly buy. I talked to the guy at the customer service counter. He told my GOVT, employes and retired get $20 off what ever level of membership you buy. He also most noteably said that if I get to say day 364 of the membersip year, I could cancel and get a full refund.. So tempted, but I still do not know what I would regularly buy there.. yea the deals are nice but I just do not know if I will remember to cancel in a year, or if I will even use it after I buy the few things I have in mind.. That $110 Netgear CM1100 DOCSIS 3.1 32x8 modem is a great buy..
I justify the membership based on gas savings alone.
