Very good mic. Check out Bandrew reviews in his Podcastage channel on YouTube for his review. This is about the best USB mic you can buy and this is 1/2 the price from a year ago. PS…they don't make this model anymore. The new one is USB-C and isn't quite as high quality as this old school mini USB version. I've used it for Zoom stuff mostly, and you could very well podcast with this. It is upgradable to pro cables if you go heavy into podcasting at some point.

Note: You have to keep this mic very close to your mouth to have it pick up your voice so If you're not accustomed to it there will be a learning curve. Also, the mic must be in the camera frame to sound good on Zoom, so consider if you are willing to make that trade off to sound super crisp to the 5% of your coworkers who will notice the difference 🤷

generally speaking, most pro audio mics are vastly superior to flashy gamer stuff...

Anyone have experience with the mic? I'm thinking of getting this just for the mic, to be used for computer gaming.
Never heard about the AT2005 but the AT2010 is highly recommended from a lot of people. If you want an alternative the Samson Q2U is a great option too.

This is a good deal. I think paid about this price for just the microphone a few years ago. I think I'll pick up a couple of more at this price to complete my podcast setup. Maybe try and flip the headphones since I don't need them. Thanks for posting!

I ended up getting this since it looks like a deal. If you sell the headphones you basically get the mic for less than 15 +- 10. The m20x are going for 49.99 most places right now

I remember researching all three before buying the AT2005USB a few years ago. I got the impression that the AT2005USB was aimed more at the pro market and the ATR2100 at consumers. I really couldn't hear much difference between the two in comparison videos though. The one thing that convinced me to go with AT2005USB was that the windscreen seem to work better than the one on the ATR2100 did. That said, if the Q2U hadn't been more expensive at the time I probably would have gone with it. It just had a warmer sound in the comparison videos that I thought made vocals sound a little smoother. Given that none of the three are high-end mics though I'd say price is really best deciding factor.

Has anyone used this for a podcast? I'm on the fence about starting my own podcast and just want to mess around with scripts/recording my voice, not necessarily publishing it immediately. Would this be a good option?

I have had this mic for about 10 years, and used it all day, every day for the last ~5 years. It stays just out of frame for me on work calls and sounds great for any conferencing (or gaming). I get questions any time I'm _not_ using it. The mic is connected through the USB hub on my monitor and I use the audio port on it to connect my headphones. It's easy to switch from my work computer to my personal PC and use the same mic setup.

I think that is exactly what I did. The Q2U was cheaper than the AT2010 at the time and I went with that. Everyone loves the way the mic sounds, says its super high quality. I am no pro so that is good enough for me.

Anyone who owns this know if you can output from the USB and XLR at the same time?

Thanks for this. Been eyeing the Yeti for a while now(small time streaming), but after reading here I chose this instead. I also grabbed the accessory kit that I would have eventually gotten anyway. Should be here on the 2nd! 😎

Update: Package has been stuck in Max Meadows, VA for 3 days now. They keep scanning in the same city and it is now delayed, wtf! Will update when I get it to see if the bundle was worth it.

Mine arrived yesterday. I don't have much else to compare this, only own a Blue Snowball, but have no complaints for $50. Also needed new headphones, these seem decent enough but I'm not picky.

How about using it for podcasts? I've just got the Yeti Blackout USB Microphone at $80. Which one is better please?
