Tbh, I've never found a single use case where I wished I had 5G rather than normal LTE. It's a non-factor to me. But I also don't do irl livestreams or upload ProRes RAW footage in the terabytes to the cloud every day, so YMMV.
If you need a cheap 5G phone, I've seen the Motorola One 5G Ace going for around $210-$230, so that's an option. Has a bigger battery than the OP8 too, and its performance will be similar. Do note Motorola's update situation is as bad as OnePlus', so you lose either way when it comes to security/OS updates.

However... the tmobile website has it rated 3.0/5 stars on 231 reviews. There are 88 5-star reviews and 86 1-star reviews, which is absurd. And this is probably why they're trying to get rid of it at this price.
The main complaints are regarding dropped calls, problems sending and receiving texts and connectivity issues.
