damn i just paid full price for the one with wheels... guess ill buy and return it on the old receipt. Don't think ill have time to go in today to get the price match since its a daily deal.

I have both of these and while the hand held one is alright you definitely cant sweep over grass with it to pick up nails. you sort of have to pat the ground and pull the nails off everytime you hear one hit or they will either fall off or the magnetic will not pick up again if it hits a nail in the same spot you already have one.

The rolling version is much better if you need to cover a larger area. As long as the grass isn't too high you can keep rolling and the magnetic is strong enough to hold a decent amount of nails.

In short the handheld is good for a small work area but if you want to sweep your yard after your roof is replaced I'd get the rolling version.

No, brass is not magnetic. This will pick up steel and some types of stainless.

Please provide link to the deal. All I see on Ace Hardware is a product that has less pull and is smaller. https://www.acehardware.com/depar...ls/2137529

Get the one with the wheel instead. More expensive, but it's better for outdoor use.

Does anyone make an electromagnet pickup tool, so you can grab and release without any mechanisms that can fail?

I have the stick one. I would strongly recommend getting the wheel one with the auto release. It is a PITA to remove a fistful of rusted nails off that magnet
