Thanks! Was looking for a new coffee maker with a cup brew option. Decided to go with this one instead of another Ninja since I'm not a fan of how inconsistent the Ninjas brew the coffee.

Nice find OP. My Bonavita is finally starting to die so I think it's time for an upgrade- now to decide on which one. Nine cup more modern, has timer - but 8-cup gives you the option for a single brew, hmmm...

Fwiw - this makes an excellent tasting brew HOWEVER - if you like your coffee on the "hotter" side - this is not for you. You will need to microwave over and over and over again. OXO needs a better engineered carafe before I buy this again

Got this 8 cup recently for about the same price at Target. Very pleased overall. I see why it's SCA certified.

I had the 12-cup version for a few years and don't disagree with you, however it's important to remind folks that continually heating coffee (e.g. hot plate) after brewing scorches it and ruins the flavor. The 12 cup held hot enough for me for 2-3 hours depending on how much I made. Also, the big sell for my house was the separate tea kettle design…which isn't offered any more in the 8 cup version.

Couldn't agree more. I use this coffee pot in the summer when I don't need my coffee very hot. In the winter I switch to a French press since OXO wasn't making it hot enough for me

8 cup is newer and brews better. I had the 9 and switched to the 8. If you're a true pourover fan, go with the 8.

As with any coffee brewer-- when hot coffee hits room temperature or an even colder carafe--the coffee temperature will drop considerably. Boil water before you start the drip, dump it in the carafe, swish it around (if it's not a lot of water), dump the water out, and immediately start the drip. For me I can say this makes a world of difference as the coffee will keep its true brewing temperature. Before doing this I had the same problem with my bonavita and my keurig. If you do this already and it's still not hot then I would take it back. I'm not sure but I think this is supposed to make a "gold cup" or whatever they call it--which brews the coffee at a higher optimum temperature. I know the bonavita and the mochamaster do, or are supposed to.

I know this - which is why I said they need to re-engineer their carafe

Im usually a hand pour over person (Hario v60 all day) but needed an alternative when it's 4am and am not awake enough to make a decent pour. This does the job.

Fyi I got this for $105 at target earlier last month with a price match from oxo's site + 5%

lol, you don't need a microwave. a $10 coffee maker can make and keep your coffee hot. unless you are into brand names and gimmicks.
