This is known to be true for PTFE manufactured using PFOA. As a result, the use of PFOA was phased out in 2013. Results on newer methods of manufacture suggest substantial reduction in offgassing at <300C, but no current evidence is available for the toxicity. It does NOT appear to result in overt damage to human or avian subjects at normal cooking temperatures.
PTFE is regularly used in medical devices embedded in the body due to both it's inert nature as well as its low coefficient of friction, especially in contact with metals. The likelihood of toxicity via ingestion is presumed to be inconsequential and has even been shown to be safe when used as a potential non-digestible bulking agent in food (https://www.ncbi.nlm.ni
Are these coatings perfectly safe? We don't know. We will probably never because it's generally impossible to prove such a thing. But, for now, we believe the current versions of PFOA free PTFE coatings to be generally safe when their temperature does not exceed 570F (300C).

Do the handles and tops of kids get hot? Seen reviews saying this . Looking at this set and also the stainless steel set but it's so new all reviews come from people who got it for free
I brought it in the prior deal. The top get hits. I'm not a fan of it for $170set. Not sure about the newer nest set.

That's what is so hard on ninja products…how to trust the reviews when it seems like everyone received a free product.
So far, I really like them. Can't speak to long term use yet.
These are really great pots, I bought the 13 piece set in February from Bed bath and beyond
and I'm a heavy user but also really picky about my pots and how to clean them.
I don't have a single scratch in any of them and the nonstick does work really well especially for eggs, processed cheese not so much but still super easy to clean.
The lids are hot to touch though, only disappointing thing on these $350+ pots.
Excellent set, the tops do get hot though if your making soup, chili etc.
Only other complaint is the bottoms then yellow pretty quickly on the pots you used daily, even if you clean them right after or wipe down. Still get stained yellow.
Heard there are ways to clean it with vinegar or baking soda but the outside of the pans don't really bother me so.
