Jeez, what a waste of resources. A neat gadget, but I think it's a lot easier to solve the problem of cold coffee by just pouring yourself a smaller cup. 14 ounces is small. Shouldn't require a battery, charger, and a smart phone to drink something hot.

2 Pieces = Mug and Coaster, not 2 Mugs.
I bought this in store.

Just FYI, the paint they use on these tend to wear out and start peeling after some time. My cup got almost daily use over a year and the inside starting flaking. Company claimed it was still safe to drink but customer service was great and sent me a new cup.

Wow. Glad I found this comment—love my Ember and use it on a daily basis as well (since last Christmas) but the paint stated flaking a month ago. Will call them up and see if they're willing to send a replacement. Thanks!

Some older guy in my office got one as a gift. He put it in the microwave because the coffee wasn't hot and the cup blew up.

I got one for my wife a year ago and she loves it. It keeps the coffee exactly at the temp she likes. We've both tried pouring hot coffee in a double-walled stainless steel travel mug which does too good of a job keeping the coffee too hot for a long time. Seriously, 2 hours later and we can easily burn our mouths. But with this, it drops or raises the temp to what you want and keeps it there for an hour or so. I can't remember the actual time it stays at the temp.

It's ideal for my wife because she's always moving from room to room at home, or around the office, and she can bring it with her.

For me, I sit at my desk the whole morning, so my typical electric Mr. Coffee coffee warmer works better for me.

If this deal was the bigger travel mug option, I'd be all over that for both my wife and me.

I remembered the first time I saw this thing. I thought it was crazy.

But how many times have u come back to a cold cup of coffee?
People who have it are extremely happy with it. Probably for a reason, and the fact that this business is STILL around, means something.

If I can find it at my local costco for <100$ I will probably buy it.

If you don't want to buy a 100$ mug, don't. No one is asking you to,

I've seen multiple reviews and everyone is extremely happy with it. James Hoffman is a guy I like to follow, he has a review on it here :

How's the durability? I am interested but have some concerns after washing it over time. Does it feel like new after 6 months, 1 yr?

I have one from last year barely used and the rubber under peeled off. Report the issue on their support and offer me the mug2 for like 60$ i still didn't buy it due to experience from the previous mug but ember didn't hesitate to send me a new one for free. The mug2 has on/off button at the bottom, i like this mug but too small! Mug2 is a newer model anyway

+1

They sell this thing call a Vacuum-Insulated Travel Tumbler/Mug for $25. No electricity/battery required.

Seems like this is just for snobs who need the beverage at a certain temperature or people who need to show off a gadget to others.

My wife likes this but would never want me to pay $100 for it. The Norpro that you have would make her happy since it is practical and you can use your own mugs. Thanks!
She can also put a glass jar of candle on it as a candle warmer without fire. Safer way to enjoy the scent.

Ion does same thing for $40: https://www.walmart.com/ip/ionMug.../210455320
I have both the ion and ember, the ember battery lasts longer by a good 30 minutes and those extra 2 oz are nice to match a 12 oz keurig pour. I absolutely hate the way you get the ion to turn on. The ion is plastic the ember is metal. Both are good.

I think I will wait for a solar powered mug that can be controlled by speaking to Alexa or Siri. Recharging a mug and needing to take my cell phone out seems like quit a hassle.
