I've traveled pretty extensively in Thailand including Phang Nga. I wouldn't recommend this deal to anyone other than perhaps a big family that can't move around due to kids or someone that has several weeks of vacation.

March is the entry into rainy season in Thailand. It is considered low season for tourism. I actually loved going in rainy season. I had Thailand basically to my self. I could travel to any region without booking any accommodation and just find something cheap when I showed up. On motorcycling through the jungles in the North I'd get soaked, but it was hot out and still fun. I'll take 95 degrees, daily showers, cheaper accommodations, and a free for all over high season with 75 degrees, drier weather, and crowded everything. If you're looking for raging night life, go in high season (November-February). If you are going for nature and peace, go in low season.

What I don't recommend is staying put. The catamaran rides and long tail boats between islands are cheap. Koh Phi Phi is nearby and considered one of the prettiest islands on Earth. Railay is not technically an island, but there's no road, and it's a secluded paradise. The standard rate for average resorts in low season was only about $60 a few years ago. Fan bungalows on islands are about $20-30. AC bungalows for $30-40. Hour long massages are about $7 in the North of Thailand, and about $10-15 in most beach areas. Thai massage is a cool combination of relaxing massage with a chiropractor like stretching routine that Thais learn in Thai temples.. If you have back injuries be careful. Even a diminutive Thai woman can seriously bend you.

Realize the deal is for Phang Nga (beautiful karst rock formations) and not Pha Ngan (aliens observing you after mushroom shakes at full moon parties).

If this is in reference to Covid, and assuming you're from New Jersey as your name might imply, I'd like to point out that New Jersey, a state with almost nine million people, has a 7-day average new case rate of 4,493, while Thailand, a country with a population of almost 70 million, has a 7-day average new case rate of 3,531.

$1,140 / month vs. $2,200 / month rent in my city. Which location is a nicer WFH location, hm...

Really? What made you think so? Were you talking about C19-related concern?

The country's population is 70-75 mil. The number of cases is about 2 mil-ish, deaths about 20k-ish, since 03/20. It has become a social protocol that you wear a mask. Daily cases are about 3-4k with some 20-40 deaths. If you do not wear a mask, chances are, you are will not be welcome at most of the places. If someone tests positive, they will be taken to a state quarantine at a hospital immediately unlike in the the USA where you have to be really sick that you need to be hospitalized. Their vaccination rate (full vaccination) is hitting 70% in a few days. Number of people having received at least 1 shot may have already exceed 70%. People are still wearing masks even though they are fully vaccinated.

Statistically speaking, multiply by 5 on those numbers and tell me how is that more dangerous than here? (I know it may not be that linear but just to give some ball park idea)

Lol.

Michael Scott went to Sandals Resort in Jamaica. If Michael went to Jamaica and stayed inside the same Sandals Resort the whole time, did he really experience Jamaica?

Be mindful that if you arrive and test positive for covid, you will be put in quarantine for a week, and cant leave the quarantine hotel (they pick not you). Happens to less than 1% of travelers.
If you test positive for covid then you should be quarantined

At this price, I'm almost expecting to wake up in a bathtub full of ice cubes with a letter that tells me not to move....

They do ALOT more testing in jersey.. ALOT more than Thialand.
source?

Also, NJ has had more covid deaths than Thailand.

Thailand currently has more daily deaths average at 29 versus New Jersey's 19, but, obviously, Thailand's per capita numbers are astronomically better than New Jersey.

That's probably why they're doing more testing in NJ, out of necessity. If more people are getting infected, more tests are going to be performed. At least you hope so.

Can anyone confirm TravelZoo? Upon a little bit of research, they do a lot of false advertising. Last I want is to book a whole flight to Thailand and arrive with no actual reservation. Apparently they don't answer their phones/emails very well.
I've used them over the years. No complaints on my end. I always call the resorts before purchasing just to confirm dates and deals..

Good of the mods to add that since it wasn't in the original post.

It's "a lot," not "alot." I love how you capitalized it and said it twice. Lol.
