Why would someone buy a Gen 3 1TB drive for $200, when you can get Gen 4 1TB for 120ish these days? Adata XPG 1TB for $130 without a heatsink, or $125 with a heatsink using the clipped coupon on Amazon.
I got a Gen4 1 TB MSI a couple weeks ago for $105, with a 20 dollar rebate, so it will be $85.
Hell, you can even get a 1TB 980 Pro on Amazon for $170.
There is literally no reason to get the drive that OP is linking too. None.
If you're deadset on getting a Samsung NVMe, just get a Gen 4 drive, since they are backwards compatible with Gen 3 anyways.
Because this has twice the write endurance you stupid fark people like you are the reason consumer market ssds are objectively getting worse now and less durable.
980 pro is
1TB 5 years or 600 TB TBW
970 pro is
1TB 5 years or 1,200 TB TBW
And how many people do you think are going to ever write 1200 TB? I've had my current SSD for 6 months now, and I've written 12.5 TB, and I'd like to consider myself a moderate to heavy user. So let's double it for the sake of saying you are an extremely heavy user, and you're at 25 TB in 6 months, or 50 TB for the entire year.
The 5 year warranty (which is the same on both drives btw) will expire long before the 600/1200 TBW warranty will.
But, let's say you plan to keep this thing for a long, long time.
At 50 TB/year, it would take you 24 years to hit that 1200 TBW mark. Who the hell is going to keep a PC for 24 years? Imagine trying to use a PC from 1997 today.
But by all means, go ahead and spend 2x on a slower drive, simply because it's rated for a longer TBW warranty. Your 5 years will be up before you come close to that mark anyways.
In fact, the Gen 4 NVMe I picked up for cheap last week is the MSI Spatium 470. Not a world beater by any means, but it is faster than this Gen 3 Samsung, PLUS, it has a 5 year, 1600 TBW Warranty.
So since you only seem to care about warranties, why the heck should ANYONE consider a Gen 3 Samsung for 200+ bucks, when you could get a Gen 4 MSI, with faster speeds, a better warranty, and it costs 60% less?
Answer: It doesn't make any sense. At all.

many would say no, and I probably don't disagree, but for that specific model (their PRO line), it's the best price in quite a while
This uses MLC NAND, much better write endurance and more deserving of the pro designation. I wish the 2TB was still around.
