Everyone report how the unlocks are going for you.
activated a new XR, auto unlocked after 60 days, not including the 1st day of activation

activated 2 refurb xr's, 1 activated a day early, the other one I had to call to get it unlocked.
did not pay for the 2nd months on those 2

I got the a straight talk iPhone SE 2020 deal from last year. I still have the original $25 sim from ST that I never activated because I rsim to use with Verizon right away.

If I activate now with the ST sim, do I have to keep that sim in the phone?

Or can I swap back to using my Verizon sim with RSIM unlock and just wait until it's officially unlocked in 60 days

I had an OG Iphone SE locked to Simple Mobile, that I had bought to do some ios development for, and never activated. I saw the 60 day unlock and thought I'd go ahead and sign it up for a couple months of service since I needed a good backup phone. Activated Jan 6. March 8 or whatever rolled around and they refused to unlock it, saying it's a 12 month unlock because it's a GSMT network (Simple Mobile), using T-Mobile towers. Although it says all over their website that it's 60 days like the rest of the Tracfone brands. I'm pretty aggrevated, since I paid the 2 months service just for this. So I wrote them a letter after getting denied by the 2nd rep and already having an hour in on it. Kind of doubtful anything will happen, but not sure what else to do. Simple Mobile folks, beware.
However, I was able to successfully unlock a pair of refurbbed Tracfone Iphone SE2's after the 60 days that were about ~$90/ea, so that's good. On both, I paid for a month of service and "won" the 2nd with rewards points, which seem easy to accumulate. When unlocking, I had to use the IMEI on the website (phone number did not work). All good - phone was unlocked seconds later on both. Still miffed about the Simple Mobile one, though. Thinking about maybe a small claims case, just because it's aggrevating.

Did you have to keep the sim in the phone the whole time?

This is a super late response, but if you still have that phone, submit a complaint with the FCC for them not honoring their phone unlock policy.. they have to respond to those tickets, and will be your best chance of getting an unlock.

I could not find out how to access unlocking my 2020 Motorola G on the tracfone site or on Google. Thanks Slickdeals for providing a forum that is so helpful. I was able to access the site noted in this forum for all Tracfone subsidiaries:

My service runs out Jan.14th 2023 and I wanted to get this done before adding a new service plan. It was a simple process, you provide your #, name, email, and IMEI, and they immediately email you 2 unlock codes - They are like 15 digits so type them correctly, hit submit, and it takes 20-30 secs. to be processed, and the page displays a Unlock Successful notice.
