The biggest difference is the combat. It's more 3 party action RPG vs the first one which was more train up your monster and issue commands. There is a small monster training element but they act more like support characters that you can activate while battling with your 3 party members. There are also army battles which is really just run around a map beating other clusters of enemies rock paper scissors style. Later on there is also a town building element where you recruit new town member via quests and then meet building upgrade requirements and grow your kingdom. It's all okay but didn't find it too deep and it was a little grindy on the harder difficulty. Storyline was fine but not as good as 1. Also if you leave your switch on hibernate, you'll gather kingdom gold and resources as the in-game time keeps progressing. Hope this helps.

Ni No Kuni 2 deep discount for physical version on Nintendo Switch. Note, there have been reports of some performance issues on Switch but nothing that is game breaking.

I'm currently partway through Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. How does this game compare to that?

For some reason, I couldn't get into the first one but absolutely loved the second game.

Gamestop also has it at this price and still in stock. I believe you'll have to pay for shipping but might find locally for pickup.

Bought it on Gamestop myself, since Best Buy and Amazon seem to be dead or only for local pickup. I just added Dark Souls for PS5 as I have been meaning to buy it and it's still on sale.

This would've been good if it was treated as an actual ghibli movie and had full voice acting and, you know, gave you that experience of watching a Ghibli film. It does not. It's long and dreadful. Also has been on sale digitally for $9.
