Having had the service for 2 years now, you would definitely have to pay me to bring me over if I was with another carrier. They're on the same network as Vzw but I had Vzw for 10 years then switched and my reception and data speeds literally took a nosedive. Only reason I stick with Xfinity is because I'm on wifi all day now and I'm paying $30 for two lines.
Yep 90 days service is required, $18(By gig Includes taxes) * 3 = $54, $200 -$54 = $146(NET PROFIT)
You can do google voice, I did one during last month's promotion. If you decide to go with google voice follow these instructions.

I understand GV takes time to port in because it's considered a landline.

Anybody knows how quickly porting in from Tello to Xfinity Mobile happens?

Within minutes/same day? Or more than a day?

Hoping it's the former.

Likely within minutes.

For me Tello only took about 15 minutes.
Thank you for the replies, @imlkrsfn2 and @tromboneboss.

Porting out Tello # into Xfinity Mobile took about 8 minutes from the time I clicked blue "Activate SIM" button until "Great, your phone number has been transferred." message.

Does anyone know if the 1/10 promotion cutoff means the activation has to be completed by that date? I initiated a port in last week and am still waiting for it to be completed. I'm worried I might not receive the promo.
How many days has it been? And, are you porting in from Google Voice? Even for porting in Google Voice #, I would hope it'd only require 3 or 4 days max to port.

When activating after you get the shipping notice but before you receive the SIM...after you enter in your Google Voice number+pin+account_info...on the next screen "activate SIM" it just has this loading graphic and a greyed out 'continue' button. "We're transferring your number from GoogleVoice to Xfinity Mobile. You'll know you're ready for the next step when your phone can't connect to the Internet without WiFi."

Are you done at that point even though the page doesn't update (doesn't let you continue)? Been over 20 minutes on that page with no change. My Google Voice unlock page now shows unlock-approved.

You'll get an email later, letting you know whether the activation /port is successful or failed. That was how it was for me when porting my boost numbers

You're likely fine. Google voice takes longer to port since it's considered a land line. Can take a few days. you can close the webpage. you'll get an email when the port is complete.

"Fine" as in they will qualify for the promotion, which ends today?

That I don't know. I'm guessing yes, but I haven't seen any data points on that

I'm guessing the promotion is what @doltran really cares about, and the only reason for porting in from GV

You're dealing with Comcast here. Anyone's guess.

I had the same experience, it took 4 days to complete the port from GV to Xfinity. Just wait for an email with the subject activation complete for (xxx)xxx-xxxx and you should be good.

In addition to the email, you will also see in your account under devices that the line is active when it is done. Once it is transferred over, when you go into Google Voice it will basically ask you to sign up for a new phone number like when you first signed up for Google Voice.

It is not too late. I spoke with a rep and they clarified that as long as the order is placed by Jan 10 you will qualify and receive the gift card. You have 30 days to activate.
Great! Thank you for the information. Sounds like today is the last day!

^ Thanks for the replies, guys. Yeah, I think the promo timing should be fine...there was even a countdown timer on the webpage today. I don't think it was PST though, so if you're gonna do the deal, I wouldn't wait more than 4 hours from this post.

Maybe they'll have another promo though after a gap. It seems like Xfinity has really pushed their mobile service hard lately in a mainstream way by bundling a big discount with their Internet/TV services.
