I know this isn't the best jig saw, and its brushed, and it doesn't have HDMI, but if you are in the M12 system and could use a jig saw its a good price.

Cheapest you can buy the jigsaw for new on Ebay is around $70, so for $40 you are getting the 4.0 and 2.0 batteries.

Da*@nit, da#*nit!! Invested in the Kobalt 24v Max line but have been contemplating M12/M12 Fuel line after seeing them in use with the contractors we're using. Ughhhhhh...thanks a lot...now have to figure out how to justify this to the boss.

For $40. more you get an Oscillating tool and a bag, the batts are small though. Maybe good for those like me that have many big batteries.

Yeah true, but personally the 1.5ah batteries are not worth much. Plus the oscillating tool has a fuel version that is much better, where as the jigsaw doesn't.

I'm in the same boat. I decided that any new power tools I purchase moving forward would be in the M12 line. The Kobalt 24v Max set I have is good enough, but I realized too late that I should have started in the M12 line.

I was willing to accept no HDMI but the lack of a touchscreen and microSD slot are a dealbreaker for me.

Looks like Home Depot lumped m12 battery reviews with this product, but overall, the reviews for the actual saw are mediocre at best, as many reviewers complain about dust collection on the cutting line, underpowered performance and the angle plate lock coming loose.

With that said, the m13 4.0 + 2.0 Ah battery kit is currently running for $119, so if you're looking to get into the m12 line or save a bit of $$ to get extra batteries, while getting a jigsaw you may or may not fine useful, this isn't a bad deal.

Before I pull the trigger and invest in yet another battery system, anyone have a compelling reason to not get into the m12 world? Their Fuel line looks like a solid investment, especially being so compact, so I'm curious if for the options and price there's anything better.

EDIT: so after a bit of looking, it looks like HD has the 6.0 extended and 3.0 compact for $89.99, which if you are looking only for the batteries, seems to be a pretty good deal.

HD also has a similar starter kit to the OP, but with an oscillating tool for $99, but as with the jigsaw, the reviews for the actual tool mention problems with the battery retention mechanism, as it seems the vibration can eject the battery while in use.

Didn't mean to crap on your thread, but I was just looking to see if there was an economical entry into this lineup that also happened to provide a solid (and useful) tool, so I figured I'd share my research.

The fact that there's no Bluetooth connectivity was a deal-breaker for me.

Actually, some power tools do come with BT, for inventory management and even tool control.

OMG, everyone stop already with the so-called jokes in this thread. None are funny. Not even a little bit. I know it's Christmas and I should be more tolerant, but these repeated failed attempts at humor are too embarrassing and annoying. Please stick to the deal and direct your pathetic jokes at your poor family and friends who have to tolerate your lameness.
