Hi all this is my very fist post! Today I saw at local Costco a pallet full of Mr. Heater MH9BX 4,000/9000BTU shown in picture. Includes 20 LB. Propane hook up kit: 5ft hose and fuel filter. This is a much better deal than the $69 from Walmart. I was looking to purchase the adapter hose for 20lb tanks and they run for about $20 on average.

There is no link to Costco website. SKU#1556535 in box. So I am not sure if this is available in all Costco. Happy hunting.

Add YMMV to your title, if its something that's going to be a bit hard to replicate (such as instore only details) this is when you need to add it to the title to expectations. (ymmv means your mileage may vary)

It will help others to post the Costco item # because you can call to check quantities available in your area.

Item #: 1556535

For some reason this item number does not yield any results when searching on the Costco website.

I use mine for camping, with adequate ventilation of course.

I've been using buddy heater for many years and never needed a filter with the 12 ft hose. Maybe it has to do with the quality of the hose. Never had a problem with oil getting built up in the pipes.

I used my big buddy heater to cook on as well I strapped on a refrigerator grate with coat hangers. Top part gets hot enough to cook it all. Get it tall pan the cooking so the grease don't splatter. Might as well kill two birds with one stone and save some money.

I see some folks calling out ventilation. These buddy heaters are designed to be "indoor safe" and "tent safe" and include features like an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (shutting off the device if the oxygen level drops to 18 percent) and a O2 shutoff. You still do need some ventilation, but I purchased this to be used indoors in an emergency (along with a battery operated carbon monoxide alarm)

Most propane hoses will leach and that will clog up the buddy heater. Some of the hoses (it's odd not all) sold under the Mr. Heater brand name are said to be ok to use without a filter. They supposedly do not leach. But other hoses need to use a filter according to Mr Heater.

This is a slick deal with the hose and filter.
