Open Box Excellent for shipping @ $1,319.99. Other options depending on location.

How are the thermals? Loud fans relative to other 3070 laptops?

Yeah, I see the $1320 "open box - excellent" option at my local BB. Very good deal. I posted the Ryzen version (similar except 512GB SSD instead of 1TB) earlier this week which ends up around the same price...but it won't ship until January. This is definitely a superior deal, particularly if you need a machine ASAP.

I wish people would post laptop in the title when it is a laptop. I would get this if it was a desktop.
The deal is correctly categorized under Computers -> Laptops

Snagged an open box. Hopefully it will be Samsung memory🤞🏻 Would have preferred the Ryzen version but didn't want to wait forever for it.

Isn't non-ryzen hurt battery performance? Any benefit of the intel chip? This also doesn't charge via usbc?

Lots of complaints about faulty touchpads, overall build quality issues, and various faulty parts. Also the location of the power button NEXT TO THE DELETE KEY is just terrible.

(Also HP shipping times are atrocious and repeatedly delayed. HP takes your money and then fulfills their end of the bargain later. Plus HP charges for returns.)

Some slower components than other similarly priced and sized laptops, though gaming benchmarks are good. Fans are louder than average during gaming. Thermals seem well managed, though.

It's not the worst choice but not particularly good, either. If you really want it, I'd buy through Best Buy so you can get it sooner and get that free return window. Also that'll keep you protected from lemons, which people are reporting in reviews and on this post.

Reviews say the battery lasts for like one hour lol

Intel at least offers thunderbolt, so there's that.

All thunderbolt 4 laptops charge over USB-C

86.6% is pretty good for NBC and they didn't even review the QHD model. Also a few other specs are different like nvme. I don't see other 3070 115tdp at 1320?

You say it's slower than similar laptops, but quoted from the article you linked:

" The Omen 16 is a heavyweight when it comes to our gaming benchmarks and competes for the first place with the Alienware. However, the latter tends to outperform our Omen 16 by a small margin, particularly at higher resolutions and quality settings."

It beats the Legion 5 Pro in most of those tests…

Most gaming laptops do not charge over USBC.

You'll get about 15-20% battery life improvement out of AMD, but you'll lose thunderbolt and PCIE4.
