About The Film:
In the aftermath of a World War II bombing, two orphaned children struggle to survive in the Japanese countryside. To Seita and his four year old sister, the helplessness and indifference of their countrymen is even more painful than the enemy raids. Through desperation, hunger and grief, these children's lives are as heartbreaking and fragile as their spirit and love is inspiring. Grave of the Fireflies is a tale of the true tragedy of war and innocence lost, not only of the abandoned young, but of an entire nation.
Common Sense Media Suggest Ages 15+. May not be suitable for younger children.

About the deal:
Grave of the Fireflies (Digital HD, Dubbed Version) is $5 less (50% savings) than the next best price at $9.99.
one of the most poignant and compelling films ever made, and it's animated. i know in western culture, we think of animation being meant for children - this is NOT the case in other cultures.
i also think this movie is so important because you empthasize with the human condition without regard to who is friend or foe, they are all just people, or children, just doing what they are told to do in order to survive. and everyone involved just wants to go home to their family in peace without carrying out orders from the top to wage a war in which everyone loses but the rich and powerful

Agreed but I wonder what impact would be made if this film were shown in schools?
