Another 4GB stick should be like $20
Plus it has a 2nd M2 slot open if you want to add a drive

Any suggestions on which RAM and SSD card would be suitable in order to upgrade this?

Detailed Specs here: https://www.manualslib.com/downlo...-5402.html

Seriously thinking to return the Target HP unit I'm typing on right now as I have until March. On this dell, bigger battery, slightly less weight despite bigger battery means it is a lighter material construction - aluminum body. NVMe drive, backlit KB (which I don't really care about), AX201 OOTB, brighter screen with better color range (most significant for me) and the only real trade off is the CPU which I'm not sure is really a huge downside as the single core performance is better out of this one. I'm not a gamer (who is a gamer looking at a budget laptop?). Some insist the 2 cores make this junk, but I'm not really in that mindset.

pretty sure all modern i3's are 4 cores
For desktop CPUs, yes, but for laptop CPUs there's only one i3 with 4 cores: the 1125G4 (which is available in the Inspiron 5410, which replaced the 5402).

You can add 4GB easily for, what, $15? Where are you finding a well-built laptops with features like backlit keyboard and full-service USB-C and 8GB of RAM for $300?

This is an excellent deal. For the price the dual-core processor is inevitable - and it's about as fast as a 10th-gen (Comet Lake) quad-core i5: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...3542vs3877 [cpubenchmark.net]. For typical browsing / office tasks, this is more than adequate as long as you throw in another 4GB or 8GB of RAM. The computer is easy to open up (but be careful and use a pry tool, start from the hinges).

What people miss when the compare top-line specs are some nice "quality of life" features that you don't normally find at this price:

- IPS or equivalent display (Dell calls is WVA = wide viewing angle, apparently because LG has a trademark on IPS, but anyway I've used this laptop and it's a decent panel for the price)
- Very nice build quality - aluminum top lid and keyboard deck
- Backlit keyboard
- Full-function USB-C with Power Delivery and display
- Large battery - 54 Whr is about 30-40% larger than normal on budget laptops
- Intel WiFi 6 (instead of the flaky Realtek wifi found on most cheaper laptops)
Yep. Not to mention it also has a fingerprint reader. The bones on this laptop are unbeatable at $300. I jumped all over it. Add more ram and its hands down the best laptop deal I've seen in awhile. The quality of life features you listed are simply not found on $300 laptops. Not needing a ton of cores personally this laptop checks every feature I'm looking for.

Any m.2 NVME SSD and any 3200 MHz DDR4 SODIMM should do.

Tempted to return target HP and get this. NVMe drive, aluminum shell, brighter screen.. I know the CPU is a downgrade, decisions, decisions.
Also consider that IPS is not listed for the display. So this has better wifi, better case. Other one has better processor and likely better display (since why wouldn't they list IPS on this one when it's a selling point)

No idea why this worked but removing the coupon code and readding LTINSP145K129 code got me down to 299.

Update: NVM Just removing the monthly support fee got it down.

benchmark of this process is almost half of the 4 core i3. this is not a good choice over the target one, just for backlit keyboard ?
